The American Indians (feather not dot) cooked their mice in a fire to burn off all the fur until it "puffs up." Then SQUEEZE IT, until all the shit is out.... Then set it on the side of your fire UNTIL IT IS TOTALLY DRY. Store it this way until you plan to eat it. Or mash it up into powder WITH rocks and add it to soups - ones and all.
That said. I killed a lot of mice. Those sticky traps are best for the tiny mice.
Now my house is protected by a WALL OF CATS! (But i still have a lot of traps. I just use less poison.)

you can get explosive cci subsonic .22 (prefragmented) bullets. (If you have access to them - if they still make them lol!) they will blow up a mouse but not scratch your furniture or floors.
Also, pump Coleman .22 or .177 air pistol works good too. I have a buddy that uses a pump bb rifle he got for $5 on large rats! (It stuns them so his dog can grab them)
I use lines of snappy traps in their trails, and have big bottles to use as a funnel to force them onto the traps. Sometimes it works. Theres like five in a row! Sometimes they all go off at once in the middle of the night. Very exciting! Snap snap etc! Check them in the morning. Lol.
I never ate a mouse, but i ate a field rat once... It was bland.

anyway wouldn't the mess from microwaving the mouse, be a big pain to clean up? could also leave nasty smell for days. Seems unideal.

You'll need too much material for too little result.
It'll probably make the microwave smell bad AF. If the inside of it's stomach and intestines start to boil (if you do it for very long), you'll have rat shit and vomit all over your microwave.
If you really want to do something funny, get some firework rockets (the ones that explode in the sky) and strap the mouse to it.

1) What do you mean by brain overheat? There is systemic cellular damage. Definitley an excruciating death as your entire body sends pain signals to the stem. It wont die in 5 seconds. Glue tape is an extremely cruel method of killing, unless you dispatch the rat via cervical dislocation, or decapitation after he has been glued.
2) Because why would you as a creature capable of realizing the concept of pain, inflict it simply for amusement? Says a lot about your personality if you engage in such practices tbh.
3) The rat has less cognitive capacity than a human. Do you uphold the rat to the same level of sentience and capacity to understand these concepts as yourself? Or you compare your own capacity to that of a rat?
