I just got done with final fantasy 7 remake and i can't deny the fact that i actually enjoyed it. First of all before going into cons i would like to talk about pros because game has tons of cons. The combat it is the best part of the game and one of the best combat in recent rpgs or jrpgs you got full real time combat this time with atb meter and when meter fills up it allows you to do abilities and spells or you could use the tactical mode of game to command your teammates to do moves and spells and you can also switch to character instantly without any limits. Game also does great job of recreating the music from original and the environments 1:1 recreation of scenes is really well done and even better than original which gives game more personality. Game also has decent enemy variety which is a rare thing in action rpgs these days. And about bosses some are really good like scopion sentinel airbuster and biggest upgrade a boss got in remake is Rufus. Rufus straight up fights like if Dante only had guns and its a 1v1 showdown like the original by far my favorite boss in game.
Now onto the terrible part of the game its the storytelling and on how they pad out the game. Its actually the first 5 hours of game stretched out to be a 30-35hour game and that involves padding and game has some of the worst excuses for padding game puprosefully slows down pacing or forces you to spend time with unlikeable foids that you don't really care about. Also not to mention how it butchered the characterization of sephiroth. In original sephiroth is the mysterious character who doesn't appear until you leave midgar which is where this game ends which also only happens in a flashback. Sephiroth in remake keeps appearing in clouds vision which i find irritating. Also game introduces tons of new side characters that you don't even want to know but game shoves them in main story and forces you to watch cutscenes.
Conclusion:- I think its a good game if it was not padded out and actually was short and focused more on quality side content. Rather than stretching it like a rubber its a 8/10 for me
