A guy at my job, decided to tell me how there’s no future in computer tech stuff and that eventually AI will take it over. He also told me that in the USA and Canada, the economy was absolute dogshit and house prices were rising etc.

Jobs are much harder as well. I had coworkers who got a degree but never found a job. I think i’m incredibly fucked. Maybe i should Move to a Poor Ass country where they really need someone. I’m worried i’m gonna be homeless

He's retarded. gAy I is going to create a huge amount of tech jobs. Downside is they will all be 996 sweatshop jobs, because gAy I can only realistically be developed on by giant corpos with tons of engineers and connections with FAGMAN to access their datasets. Fewer potential employers, lower negotiating leverage for the worker, worse conditions, lower pay.

China is going the exact opposite direction with this btw. They open-sourced deepseek.

Yeah.

Go to a non-poor non-western country.

This. All techinal unis are now incorporating at least 2-3 AI-related courses in Comp Sci, SE and even EE and related branches. It's the same "machine replacing manual labor" argument. Instead of lowering jobs, machines created a higher demand for technicians to maintain and repair so the same effect will most likely be seen with AI too.
