Yes I can understand, I have extreme facial and head-deformities and abnormal proportions, you wouldn't believe it, and I feel uncomfortable in the presence of my parents. Once my aunt, who died a few years ago, told my mother that my cousin "is so attractive." (which is true, but it angered my mother that she said it in my presence, and he wasn't even there.)
