This guys life is ruined forever due to a false allegation. Considering some of us are legit ugly /loners, how can we protect ourselves from something like this happening to us? Maybe I'm missing something in the story but it just seems like the guy got arrested based on a verbal accusation by the girl, and despite being proven innocent (others aren't so lucky and have seen jail time before innocence), his life still got permanently fucked up.

I'm laughing at the thought that just saying hello to a girl who ends up taking offence / hating me based on the way I look could fuck me over...

Obtain written or otherwise verifiable consent to sex. For me, I won't be having sex until after marriage (assuming I ever ascend), and included in the prenup/marriage legal documents will be said consent.
