This is really specific, but I've been having these "noclip" dreams a lot. For those of you who never played the game, let me introduce you to the brief of the stealth mechanic.

Basically, fallout games combine a pretty shitty stealth mechanic, sudden encounters, and contrasting themes. If your character gets spotted by a enemy, the game music changes and the warning goes either CAUTIOUS or DANGER

One can be reasonably sure of a safe sneak
by using the noclip command and sneaking around enemy without issues. However there's no telling if you clip into a space and a npc will spot you and that standing even in noclip can get you cautious status

In my dreams, I would go into some space with lots of enemy NPCs. Think a scary abandoned underground building with lots of roaming hostile NPCs and I would go into noclip. When i get spotted in dream i just noclip away..I don't have the need to do this when I'm playing the game, because I can just smash them easily with the weapons.

I dont play the fallout games that much, but the dream persists. Perhaps the perfect combination of shitty game mechanics managed to create the "scary" and tense situation that is rare in other medias.

I think it signalizes that I'm afraid of action or that I'm inaction to current problems (wageslaving) etc. Instead of bashing the NPCs with a bat or sneaking around the normal way, I resort to noclip just to feel safe and not get detected.

i've had noclip dreams and flying dreams before that were inspired by videogames, i think i found it very disturbing when i first used noclip in Half-Life, gave me chills and i found it creepy that you could fall infinitely through the floor and see hidden rooms that were never meant to be entered directly, ofc i was just a teen without much digital experience or i wouldn't have cared much.
meanwhile the flying is just generic human wishful thinking i guess, maybe a want for more freedom and control in life.
it all definitely makes dreams interesting i can tell you that much.
