i can think of a few reasons why fear of failure is beneficial:

1. failure lets you learn your physical and intellectual capabilities, good faith and willpower only gives you acceleration, but it can't give you the horsepower.

2. failure in a certain things (like college for example) can fuck you over royally, can take a decade just to clean up the debt and gain motivation to start over.

3. just because 1 person managed to do something that you didn't. doesn't mean that you can or should replicate his success.

4. trying once and failing can fuck you over too, trying does not rid you of the responsibility of failure. if you try once and fail, it is still your fault.

5. failure is responsibility. because life is made of failures and successes, not attempt. no one measures your success by the number of attempts.

Failures are a little bit the reason that pushed us to be on this site, failures hurt and remind you what shit you are in the real world and what happen when you do x actions I don't understand bluepills who live in illusion or simply hypocrisy, I don't see the point to tell us such lies
