Women have inherent value while the only value men have is what they can create: women are the key to life.
If a tribe has a quarter of its men die off the remaining 3/4 can inseminate all the women without a problem and the next generation will be born just fine. If a quarter of the women die the next generation will be smaller. By our fundamental nature, men are expendable.
Women tend to be more "average". Most of the really brilliant, successful people are men AND most of the biggest failures are men. Men are more likely to be billionaires or homeless people. Women trend more towards the average.
It's rough if you're a guy on the bottom of the totem pole: you're worthless.
