To be completely honest, I don't think reversing aging and curing all of the diseases is even a hard problem when viewing it from the informational technology side of things.

In a modern society, most of the research is driven by short-term profits risk/profit assessment by the shareholders that give out research funds, not long-term goals of advancing human knowledge.  Most scientists are laborers of science not actually scientists in the true sense of the word(which would be philosophers of natural sciences).

The cure for aging isn't even close. We can't even treat cluster headaches, let alone cure them. If you have autoimmune, something as simple as eczema, you get steroids, same as fifty years ago. Same with arthritis.

Get a chronic illness and you'll find out exactly how far behind we really are. The treatments are painkillers/drugs that kill your kidneys and "just try not to focus on it."
