Ingredients:
Having a scale is very helpful and whisk for stirring
Instructions
you can use a few mg sodium benzoate as a preservative, or mix in a couple of tablespoons of store bought lube since it has preservative.
The one downside is that it is somewhat perishable, so you have to use it quickly if you don't add the preservative.
Here is the video where I learned it.
- vegetable glycerin (unscented)
- xanthan gum
- sodium benzoate preservative (optional)
- store bought lube for preservative (optional)
Having a scale is very helpful and whisk for stirring
Instructions
- get a clean and dry measuring cup (at least 2 cups/500 mL i use a 4 cup measuring cup)
- must be DRY or xanthan gum will form clump and will not mix properly making the lube overly runny.
- I usually wash it, dry with a towel/rag, then leave it upside down for about an hour so it drip dries
- must be a measuring cup or any vessel with a spout to make it easier to pour into a container
- must be DRY or xanthan gum will form clump and will not mix properly making the lube overly runny.
- Place measuring cup on scale, tare it, and sprinkle in 1.6 grams of xanthan gum
- Tare again and pour in 21.6 grams of vegetable glycerine.
- While whisking, add warm water until the desired consistency is acheived, between 1 and 2 cups (250 - 500 mL)
- pour into condiment bottle or any other sqeeze bottle. I use one like this:
