My gift is to be the counterbalance to the world. Someone must fail for others to win, someone has to be ugly for there to be beauty, someone needs to be lonely for others to be social and not alone, someone has to be... you get it by now.

Btw I also copy lots of other people's personalities and stuff like that. I don't think there is any real me, I'm just a homunculus made out of personalities of heroes I liked as a kid, with layers of things I read that resonated with me. But he could afford to say what he wants, especially at that time in society. He was a world famous acclaimed actor. There was virtually zero social, professional, or financial cost to him for speaking his mind. For most everyday people, there are massive costs to doing that. You can easily lose your job (and thus your ability to feed and clothe yourself), and you could also lose friends, because they will distance themselves from you for fear of the first reason.

So what you end up with is a society of bullshitters who say what everyone else wants to hear, because saying what you really want is shooting first in a pitch black room (you give yourself away and get "killed"). And what do you know? That's exactly that we have today. Everybody is full of shit.
