Exactly. Most of human history was us living in small tribal communities and working together for the betterment of the tribe. All men get a wife, all men hunt together and all the women cook together, ect.

Once society grew, we kept a lot of that tribalism but families became more independent. Instead of whole tribes, you had multiple generations living in one house hold. You still had strong community bonds through Churches and social groups and towns were generally smaller so a lot of people knew each other. Travel was by horse, so most people never traveled more than 50 miles from where they were born.
