I don't think it's gay or volcel for Peter to turn down Lois when she's ovulating - he knows the family can't afford a 3rd child so would want to use a condom during times she could get pregnant.

Lois rapes him by forcing unprotected sex during their ovulation period.

Imagine genderswap version of this and how feminists would revolt at the idea of Peter raping Lois for laughs.

There is a rape culture but it only mocks the rapes of men, women are a protected class.

It conveys the truth though I wouldn't call that truth 'furtive' or say it needed to be 'exposed'.
Maybe -highlights- the truth is better - it's something we all generally know but fail to talk about much.
