I've never watched this movie before all the way through but it's attacked nationalists (a guy who dislikes foreigners is portrayed as a buffoon, and treated badly), capitalists (a money-obsessed lady is also treated badly and portrayed as evil) and even traditional values (a girl who dislikes Christmas is portrayed positively).

I see what you both mean. Apparently even in the '50s they were teaching left-wing stuff. And the '60s clearly had a lot of it. So... yeah it's been growing I guess since the end of WW2.

That being said I think white people have always been a bit soft to be honest.
