It's always said that Eric was a classic psychopath that wanted to be the villain, and Dylan was the depressed guy who wanted to die for a while and went along with Eric despite being an accepted normie.
I also am skeptical of that narrative. Most of it was based on a journal where Eric said hated everyone around him, but it was like the shit most angsty teenage boys would spew who feel alone.
Eric was probably treated terribly by others in school, and Dylan while had some normie friends, he was awkward looking and couldn't pull the girls he really liked.
