I use this cope occasionally, especially on days I have to work where I feel like shit and don't want to do anything. Today I realized that not many people are aware of this wonderful little drug and I figured I would share with the brocels.
What is ephedrine?
not to be confused with pseudo-ephedrine (it's weaker twin). It comes from the ephedra plant. Ephedrine is a CNS (central nervous system) stimulant. It is similar to caffeine, but more intense with a better feeling, both physically and mentally. It will not get you very high or tweaked out, it just provides a nice, clean rush of focused energy. It used to be known as "trucker speed" since the pills were sold in many gas stations and truck stops.
Is it legal?
Ephedrine is a semi-controlled substance in the US. It is banned as a food product and as a diet supplement. It used to be the main ingredient in many workout supplements such as Hydroxycut. However, it is still sold as an asthma medication. In this form it is completely legal, and it does the same thing.
How can I get it?
You can buy ephedrine sulfate over the counter in many pharmacy chain stores in the US, it is sold as BronkAid:
Typically, you find the BronkAid card in the cold and flu section near the Sudafed. You take the card up to the pharmacy where an employee will have to get it for you from behind the counter. You will have to show ID to buy it. You are only allowed to buy so many boxes a month due to its use in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
A box of 50 or so pills is about $15.
How do I take it?
I pop 4 of these (100mg) along with an energy or alcoholic drink and fly for hours. You can experiment with what works for you. I will only do this once a week or so, as a tolerance builds up quickly and I don't want to be eating a whole box of these things. It's also really nice for working out, or used alongside alcohol for a nice little buzz.
