RR’s new video on “Competent and Generous” men. It's more or less about normies who moneymaxx or statusmaxx and eventually become betabuxers as a consequence of pursuing women after becoming moneymaxxed / statusmaxxed as a sub-Chad, and the distasteful reality of having to acquire foid attention as a normie or subhuman male through moneymaxxing or statusmaxxing

I noticed something at around 25 mins. There is a chart on US fertility rates from 1995 to 2024

If you look at all the years between 1995 and 2024 where the fertility rate increased, there was an economic crisis that occurred around that time:

1997 to 1998The Asian financial crisis. High interest rates in East Asian countries caused temporal economic crash across every major country in East Asia. Its effects were felt in US economy
1999 to 2000The “Y2K Problem” and the “Dot-Com” bubble begins to take effect on US economy
2002 to 2005 – The economic effects of September 11 attacks led to a sharp drop in US stock market value. The “Dot-Com” bubble erupted around this time, several internet companies went bankrupt. The US stock market suffered from lows throughout 2002 and 2003
2005 to 2007 – The 2007/2008 worldwide economic recession aka “the Great Recession”
2013 to 2014 – The US economy suffered a major economic slowdown between 2014 and 2016; stock markets across the financial world had the largest decline in this era since the 2007/2008 recession. There were several red flags that pointed towards an imminent major recession in 2016, but ultimately didn’t happen
2020 to 2021 – The COVID-19 global epidemic / pandemic

From this chart I’ve drawn a theory that economic crises actually incentivize women to reproduce more. In other words the more unstable the economy becomes, or the closer to a disastrous state that the economy becomes, the more frequently that women will attempt to reproduce

The question is why? Maybe it’s a sort of evolutionary survival mechanism in humans that compels them to reproduce in tougher economic situations, with the idea that more children = higher chances of survival of the species in living conditions that are relatively anarchic and troublesome. This explains why people in low IQ regions with widespread poverty (e.g., Africa and South Asia) continue to reproduce above replacement level in their individual countries

TLDR Economic development leads to better living standard, and it leads to a sense of widespread complacency which ultimately motivates women to attempt to reproduce less often. If women were to be forced into tougher economic circumstances, it will motivate them to reproduce more often. At this stage it’s possible that the only practical way to encourage more breeding in developed countries is by allowing the economies of developed countries to descend into a disastrous state

You are most likely correct. But it's also possible their chances would be higher as it seems that women are more likely to act under pressure and prioritise their wellbeing over hypergamous tendencies when placed in more difficult economic circumstances

The woman is more likely to compromise by dealing with men that she usually would avoid in more preferable or "normal" economic cirumstances, as she probably would be aware that her odds of survival / quality of life will be lower when placed in tougher economic conditions, and her survival instinct would override her impulse to be hypergamous or picky when it comes to potential mating partners

Nice observation, but these slight increases in fertility were negligible in the long term as the chart shows and didn’t change the declining trend.

That temporary increase in fertility during the Covid lockdown could also be explained by couples being locked together for longer periods of time which made them have sex more.

I wonder what major event or cultural paradigm shift will change the trends as it’s completely unsustainable as it is currently.
