I just went on those subsoyddits and it didn't ask for any age verification shit. I am using ublock origin, Ghostery and the duckduckgo extension though, maybe that makes a difference. Are you using ad blocker as well?

I know you don't want to use a VPN, but you can get a cheap VPN key on places like G2A for a fiver, and it gives you a years subscription and ability to install it on several devices. It's worth it imo.
