Has anyone else noticed the following double standard with women?
A commonly heard phrase from women is: ‘This is me, this is how I am, and if you want me you’ll have to take me as I am.’ The message here is that the woman doesn’t have to change.
However, it’s also common for a woman to say to a man: ‘If you want to keep me, you’ll have to make more of an effort.’
Or: ‘If you want me, you’ll have to change your ways.’ The message here is: the man has to change.
