I wasn't on for a few days because I was dopamine fasting. I actually feel so much happier and content when I'm dopamine fasting, it actually works. I genuinely believe our brains have limited dopamine and if we use it on things like social media, it drains it for other more productive purposes.

Just came back from my 3rd day of oxygen fasting. My lungs feel fresh and brand new and are working in optimal condition

Try to not do anything you enjoy for a whole day, the only dopamine you're allowed to experience is dopamine that requires sacrifice (euphoria from working out, the proudness after reading an intellectual book, the feeling of accomplishment from mastering a task, etc). Don't think "I want to do this because it feels good", think "I have to get X Shit done regardless of if I'm happy".

It's VERY hard to discipline yourself to do, because your brain will naturally gravitate towards what FEELS better, so you're going to want to conscientiously stop yourself from experiencing pleasure. Take cold showers, no phone or internet, don't even eat tasty foods.

uhh, dopamine release mostly denotes importance in a self-reinforcing way.

triggered by social media -> place preference to use social media, importance of other activities are devalued...

dopamine levels rising too high usually cause psychotic illnesses... so i think its more about chosing sources of dopamine that aren't neurotic/self-harming.

also dopamine is very rapidly synthesized and broken down by enzymes in the brain and gut. you kinda can't alter levels of it directly without psych drugs. only how it's being used by your brain.

Funny enough, my cousin who just finished medical school told me yesterday over dinner the exact opposite, Tiktok is poison for the brain and causes depression.

I never do anything productive really. My dopamine receptors are already intact. I know i have excess dopamine because i can just sit down in my garden for hrs and look at trees without getting bored, with no phone in my hand. I've noticed that i feel more happy and full of energy during nofap though, but i wouldn't need a dopamine fast.

For me, I can genuinelly tell myself that doing my work is the most important thing in the world, but I get distracted by Tiktok and Incels.is and jerking off... It's a curse. I feel if i could just resist that stuff I could get everything done.

The only productive things i have to do this year is to buy some new clothes and get a drivers license.

I don't really, and my job doesn't really contribute that much to society either. It's a non profit organization sort of but i still get paid. I mean i could looksmax, lose some weight or whatever but i don't know if that would make any difference at age 32. Looksmaxxing after your late 20s seems kinda useless. I might try though, with my norwood 3.
