The Hudson County Sheriff's Office rookie who previously worked as a paid dominatrix and appeared in multiple fetish videos online was officially fired today.
Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari confirmed that a hearing officer presiding over Officer Kristen Hyman's disciplinary hearing made the determination to terminate her this afternoon, adding, "I agree with the hearing officer."
A source said the key reason Hyman was terminated was for lying about her prior work as a dominatrix on her sheriff's office application, although it's possible she would not have made it into the academy had she been honest about her past.
Hyman's lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment today.
Hyman was suspended without pay six days prior to her June 1 graduation from the police academy, but was allowed to graduate after a judge lifted the suspension.
The sheriff's office also opposed her being sworn in with her classmates on June 8, but then dropped its opposition hours before the ceremony. She was then placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of her disciplinary hearing which began Nov. 14 and resulted in her termination today.
An official with knowledge of the disciplinary hearing previously told The Jersey Journal the proceeding's format is similar to a that of a trial and the county and Hyman are represented by attorneys. The hearing began Nov. 14.
