My working hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a two-hour lunch break in between. In fact, there isn't much I have to do. The main tasks are just to run errands and copy documents. They won't assign the really important work to a student. After returning home and having dinner, I need to prepare for the postgraduate entrance examination in December this year. It's very tiring. The worst part is that during the summer internship with the government, there is no salary and it's free labor. They will only give you an internship certificate, so that you can complete the summer internship tasks and reports assigned by the university. This is simply a form of formalism. It's even worse than wage-slavering because there is no salaryI'm very sleepy now but I can't rest because I still have classes until 10 p.m., then I have to wash up and go to bed. The next day, I have to get up at 7:30 and take the bus to work.

Right now, I'm relying entirely on the motivation of "maybe I'll be better after I finish my graduate studies." to keep going. But to be honest, this week of internship has made me realize that work can really be very draining. I'm comforting myself because perhaps I'm currently without a salary, so I have no motivation. If my salary were sufficient to support myself in the future, it might be a bit more acceptable.

Because I am in China, a socialist country, universities here will assign students with internship tasks. You must complete them otherwise you won't be able to obtain your grade point. And the government, in order to help their students graduate smoothly, will arrange internship jobs for them. Because there are many committees in China, even an ordinary residential area has a residents' committee. A town has six neighborhood committees and eight village committees. As long as you apply, you will be randomly assigned to one of them. Or you might be assigned to the police station, the environmental protection bureau, the auditing bureau, the women's federation organization, the child protection organization, the disabled association, the health center, the street administration bureau, etc., to serve as a nominal member. The government doesn't give you a salary, but just provides a place for you to complete the school's tasks. Your job is to print documents, visit residents, make reports, clean up, repair equipment, or one of the other tasks. But this internship will not be converted into a regular position. It's just for you to participate for one month, and they will stamp it to prove "You are a college student who completed government tasks during the summer vacation". Other than that, it means nothing. It won't help you find a job at all because this is not a formal company internship. Unless you later want to take the civil servant exam. Because in China, if you want to work in the government, you must first pass the civil servant exam. Then you must be a Communist Party member. And the civil servant exam is much more difficult than finding a job. 2 million people take the exam, and only 30,000 can pass.

Idk, my labor at the bar is much more mentally and physically demanding than yours because I have to carry crates of beer, wash dishes, dry them, clean coffee machine, handle transactions and obviously serve people. But I guess that I do not have such strict hours as you as I can come and go whenever I please.

You're right. Actually, the internship isn't tiring. Because they won't entrust the truly important tasks to college students in case of any mistakes. What's more exhausting is that my schedule is too full. Just like the thread that Ryo posted in the must-read section, the Neijuan in China is extremely severeIf I don't study until late at night, I won't be able to get admitted to graduate school, I won't be able to obtain the household registration in a big city, and I won't be able to find a good job.

You need like permission from the government for thats hit and if you weren't born there you basically need to prove that you are some sort of genius or at the very least a smart person.

Idk why you don't simply leave, there are a lot of chinkcels in my univsersity and their german is shit yet they still were permitted to come here. But whatever I am sure that you need to have connections to get student visas and shit like that. And you don't sound like a neppo baby, so you probably can't leave.

I come from a small city. This city is so backward that it doesn't even have a subway. The first airport was only built in 2019. In high school, I got up at 5 am to memorize my lessons and went to bed at 12 pm. With a total score of 750 in the college entrance examination, I needed to score 562 to be able to go to a normal university in Shanghai. That was the first time I had taken a plane and a subway. I was very embarrassed and got lost in the airport and subway station.
My relationship with my parents wasn't good, so I studied hard in order to get into a Universities in other provinces and live on my own in the future. But to be honest, it was much harder than I imagined. I'm not smart and I'm not the most diligent either. To be honest, my family couldn't afford to send me to study abroad unless I later received a scholarship and the school funded my study. But that was too difficult. In college, there are never a shortage of intelligent and diligent people. I'm not one of them.
I have to get 390 out of a total of 500 points to have a chance to enter the graduate interview stage. Then I need to pass the CET-4 and CET-6 exams to obtain the English certificates. Next, I need to pass the computer exams. This will be helpful for me to obtain the household registration. If I want to study abroad, I also need to pass the IELTS or TOEFL exams.
