There is the meme "just clean your room and you'll feel better". I've always been a clean person and keep my room and the rest of the house clean so I've never thought about it but whenever things start to get out of order I do notice that my thoughts are more scattered and I don't do much that day.

Is this a placebo, do you notice any mental changes when your room/house is clean as opposed to when it isn't?

Dude, my room looks like a dumpster.
What's the point of cleaning your room if noone comes to visit???

I feel more space, in my immediate area, which makes sense of course. I also feel better for accomplishing it because usually I can barely drag myself out of bed.

Very much so - 95% sure I have OCD (never been officially diagnosed) so my room/home is always pristine, neat and tidy.

Yes my room perfectly resembles my mental state. :feelsrope:

I feel much calmer when the pad is tidy. I clean up often though everyone functions differently. Apparently Mozart was very messy.

I don't do it for other people, I do it because I like & respect myself.

There are those people with rooms like these, and I don't get how they can even be comfortable in that.

I don't particularly want people to come and visit as I get triggered if they move something out of place/alignment.

That is vomit inducing. How the hell can people live like that?

Mine is minimal, barren, without any significant items worth noting save for some books lying around. Room and carpet are light colors. Desktop is glass with black steel frames. Bed is held up on top of a black wooden frame. Mess is quarantined to the closet area.

So yea, it is reflective.
