Does low social status necessitate depression?

I have always felt terrible as a result of being a loser. I've always assumed this is how I'm supposed to feel, but I realized I can hang out with other losers, and since I'm not reproducing anyways, I can explore hobbies until I find a purpose. Rate this plan 1-10

Well it probably does have a connection. There have been studies on a few animals, the most famous one is the one with lobsters, because Jordan Peterson talks about it a lot. When lobster males loose a fight against another male, which puts them lower in their social status, they lose serotonin which is responsible for feeling good and satisfied. When they get a injection of serotonin they turn red and put their claws in the air like they has just won a fight.

inb4 muh peterson sucks. doesn't chance the fact that lobsters and a lot of other creatures get depressed when they lose social status.

Finding purpose 10/10. The blackpill is a greiving process. Most of us never get past the anger or depression stages. I’m not gonna pretend that it doesn’t suck, but you can move on and be genuinely happy doing other things.
