They control a few nodes.

But it's still pretty safe, because they actually need to control ALL nodes (which is basically impossible) to track you.
 
No, it's safe and cannot be controlled without tons of effort. But its only safe where the userbase is big... Otherwise police can start correlating data from ISP (aka first tor node connections from your clearnet IP and all tor nodes are publicly listed).

TL;DR: They can prove you used Tor at certain time at best, by collecting & correlating data from ISP. They cannot see what you are doing there.
