Does evil always prevail in this world?

I've noticed that the evil and corrupt tend to succeed more in this world. Almost as if to be succesful one has to shut off their conscience and moral compass. Everyone just turns a blind eye to it and it becomes a norm. Those that have "made it" no matter their methods are celebrated while those that did not "make it" are seen as "the bad guys". Humans are just animals at the end of the day. The animal world is brutal, but it is necessary for survival. Humans will be brutal for their own survival, and feel little empathy for others who are not within their close circle of family or friends.
