Charles Manson wasn't a cult leader, he was more of a pimp. These were his aspirations.
I think towards the end when they were feeling pressure of retailiation from the panthers,
they probably turned into more of a cult.
He took a lot of his concepts from Buddhism, scientology and Timothy Leary.
In regards to mogging - the 1960s was a different time. He approached Fromme by saying
''they call me the gardener'' - meaning probably he helps ''flower children'' grow. They were
run away kids who joined the manson family. There was no internet or smart phone either
and they were trying to get away from traditional conservative values towards sex and relationships.
