Does anyone else here use their pets as a cope?

I have a dog (a lurcher) who's honestly my biggest cope. He doesn't give a fuck how ugly I am and sits with me while I play vidya. I'm in the process of researching birds of prey as well, and building an aviary for a baby barn owl I'm adopting. I'm going to imprint them, so they see me as a father (I would love to have a child but that's never happening) It's kind of pathetic, but it's a good distraction. Tell me about your pets if you have any.
