Does anyone else find obscure/lesser-known spree killings fascinating?

I do. While I find spree killings a fascinating concept in general, it's the obscure and mostly forgotten ones that I strive to find more information about. I'm not exactly sure why, but I guess it just feels nicer knowing that you are in a really niche area of interest. Being able to say that you are probably one of the few people around who can relate to and is familiar with a particular case feels nice. At least for me it feels that way.

Over the last 6 years I've been extensively researching mass killers, I think I've read about every single one in modern history. Some of my favourite cases which remain esoteric and of specialised knowledge include:

* Mutsuo Toi (21yo, went ER in 1938, killed 30 with an axe + himself) This guy predates Elliot Rodger by over 70 years and it astounds me just how little-known he is, read his motive:

From his suicide notes it appears that after May 1937 when he was diagnosed as suffering from tuberculosis, the young women in the village rejected his sexual advances.

Toi left several long notes which revealed that he was concerned about the social impact of his tuberculosis, which in the 1930s was an incurable fatal illness. He felt that his female neighbours became cold towards him once they knew of his illness, and that he was despised as hypersexual, and he also stated in the notes that neighbours insulted and treated him badly after he was found to have tuberculosis.

* Genildo Ferreira de França (27yo, went ER in 1997, killed 15 + himself) Brazilian soldier who went on a 14-hour long rampage. Motive being his wife spread a rumour around the village that he was a homosexual. Sounds ridiculous, I know. (http://murderpedia.org/male.F/f/ferreira-genildo.htm)

* Matthew Beck (35yo, went ER in 1998, killed 4 + himself) (https://www.nytimes.com/1998/03/07/...ticut-lottery-worker-kills-4-bosses-then.html)

* Evan Ramsey (16yo, went ER in 1997, killed 2) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethel_Regional_High_School_shooting) He never offed himself afterwards, so now he's pretty much serving life in prison.

Ramsey complained of being harassed and teased by other students, even to the extent of only addressing him as "Screech", a character from the TV series Saved by the Bell.[5] In addition to being picked on by peers, however, Ramsey had a long history of abuse. His mother lived with a series of violent men who abused Ramsey and his brothers. He also was physically and sexually abused by an older boy in one of the foster homes he was placed.

* Unnamed perpetrator of the Raumanmeri school shooting (14yo, went ER in 1989, killed 2) First documented school shooting in Finland. Perpetrator had apparently been a long-term victim of bullying. Get this:

Due to the perpetrator being under the age of 15, he never faced any criminal charges for the attack.

Anyone else know of other obscure mass killers? Maybe list some? I'll see if I've read about them before or not. Chances are I have, but who knows, maybe one of you could surprise me.

Anyways, hope this thread could help any of you who are also interested in this sort of thing. Maybe you learned some new names.

Ah yeah... Brenda Spencer is often considered to be the most infamous female spree killer, as well as one of the earliest school shooters. There have been a handful of other female spree killers, though most of them don't manage to rack up many fatalities. I could list a few:

It’s typical I guess but for me it’s columbine. Eric and Dylan are by far the most fascinating shooters imo.

I do the same thing with serial killers, I guess. I'm a big fan of Joseph E Duncan III. I also like Carl Panzram.

I may looky-loo some of the wieners you referenced; I'm sure there are some fun stories there. All kinds of crazy stuff happens that people don't know about because the media doesn't shove it in everyone's face.

Sandy Hook. Without a doubt. I relate to Adam Lanza most I think... how similar our lives are just astounds me sometimes. I even kind of look like him IRL. Columbine is fascinating as well, and the first spree killing I ever remember reading about. It's crazy how two perpetrators were able to trust each other to do that. How did they do that without constantly worrying about one of them turning their backs/dobbing them in?

wow very intrigiung. a FEMOID wanting revenge against soiciety AND getting a decent kill/injur count. This would NEVER happen in the present day. I'm always waiting for the "femcel" (all fake imo) mass shooter, or to see on the news one day "Girl kills 15 in high school shooting" It never happens though.
