Dad used to ask me why I never had a gf a bunch of times from age 14-17 but then he realized it was mostly hopeless and never mentioned it again. Mom still thinks I can ascend by just making conversation with random foids, like come on, this isn't the 1950s

I've tried to discuss the climate with my parents about it - they unfortunately just have a cognitive dissonance towards it so I don't bother anymore. I think they are more likely believing that it's voluntary or there is something wrong with me. Parents from the mid 90s+ onwards have no idea. They really don't.

Yeah this is quite similar to my own experiences too. They just gave up on me after asking about it a couple times before, I'd always shift the conversation though.
