I am American, and volleyball in the United States is seen as a leisure activity to most. I didn’t know volleyball was a serious sport until I was in high school.

Even after graduating from high school - I don’t know the rules of volleyball.

I seriously thought volleyball was just a game played at the beach or at the park until high school. I noticed tall basketball players played volleyball, and a few short players always worked their way into the team (I think there is a strategy behind short volleyball players).

I read an article somewhere about how Osama Bin Laden and this other Al Qaeda member were such height moggers that whenever those two played volleyball at an Al Qaeda training camp, the other players demanded that they be on separate teams
