This seems like a troll but it is actually a serious question, considering that not too long ago, legal codes or customs in the developed world forbid them from doing so.
The Catholic Church was against it for a long time.
Nowadays, it is still opposed by islamist groups. In Algeria during the civil war of the 1990s, islamist terrorist groups massacred entire villages to try to prevent women from wearing pants or going to school. This shit still goes on in Afghanistan today. While obviously, terrorism is contemptible, the fact is that women wearing pants is not a common sense thing at all and has provoked a lot of controversy and strong feelings in history.
Pants are a double issue: first, they show off too much of the female body. Secondly, it was a garment designed for males and worn by males. Women wear male garments nowadays, and yet men don't wear garments designed for females. This shows that women try to resemble men. In a way, when women started wearing male garments, feminism had already achieved total victory.
