I'm really confused. Do you think love exist, whether its unconditional or not? I completely refuse unconditional love, but this is not about the existence of a problem with the definition of love. Love not being unconditional doesn't mean it doesn't exist, does it?


If the goal was only to have sex and reproduction, there would be no loyalty in animals, but it is known that some species do not have this, while some species, especially in the species where the offspring is more demanding, the partners show some loyalty to each other. From an evolutionary psychological perspective, some species in nature have to be loyal to a certain extent, and love is one of the best indicators of this. Chemically, there are only chemicals in your body that are activated during connection. So there are scientific findings about the existence of love. Answer the poll.

Yes. People here love them a study they can hang onto, and there've been studies to show that love exists even in the animal kingdom. It's instinctual. Young animals, or any animal dependent or defenseless, has it in them to depend on someone larger and more capable. When an animal learns who its provider is, it clings to that provider. Not even necessarily for food, just for the feeling of being near them.

And female animals are instinctually driven to take care of things. Mama penguins will steal babies just to have something to take care of. Mama seals will feed cameramen because they believe them to be motherless babies.

love is a fairy tale cope. if you accept that every interaction is transactional and that everyone is inherently selfish, you have to accept that love, especially unconditional love, doesn't exist. pair bonding is the closest thing to it but that's not really love, that is just chemicals. you don't really "love" the other person, you are positively stimulated by oxytocin and other chemicals your brain releases as a way to incentivize a pair bond to maximize the survival chance of your offspring, it's self interest. also, pair bonds break apart all the time so they aren't that special.

I remember reading scientific evidence that the human brain cannot work properly without love and attention when i was in hs. Those of us who have been bullied throughout olur lives just because of the way we look did not get to experience this. I don't know though.

Love doesn't exist. The word itself is an invention of human beings.

The word 'love' is so abstract that it enables women to obfuscate the actual reasons why they are picking Chad all the time.
Even if they aren't dating Chad they're using the word to justify their sub-optimal choice in the current male they are with, as to not appear like losers to their femoid peers. We all know that women with sub-optimal males secretly resent being with them and are constantly lining up potential upgrades to trade up for later.
