Yeah I'm about 99% convinced this is some kind of dream or fucked up simulation; kind of like how when we go into sleep and we have dreams which are of lower quality and of less detail / logical sense, similarly we exist in a "higher realm" and we are currently asleep / imagining something that isn't real: this only feels real by comparison because we are in the middle of the dream, so we can't really compare "higher" forms of real.
What is this "higher realm" - are we in Hell being tortured by demons? Is this part of some ongoing test to develop our character? Are we alien kids at daycare and this is just a creative video game we are a part of? Are we being harvested by aliens? I have no idea.
I tend to think it's some ongoing test to develop our character and we willfully or unconsciously descended here to test ourselves, but such speculations are nonfalsifiable.
Here's one example: if you just study the history of the world, the culture, the norms of the past (whether its Pagan Rome or Christian Europe as something more immediate in culture or context: but even study Imperial China) and you compare it to now, the world we live in is so absurd and nonsensical in comparison that by all the standards of learned social behavior from those societies (with pathological behaviors causing social collapse in the past, especially in the case of Rome), we should've devolved into chaos 20-30 years ago; yet simultaneously, we are somehow the most developed and functioning civilization in all of human history on the verge of colonizing Mars, with access to all information and the development of artificial intelligence.
Literally makes no logical sense.
