I remember it well because the plane took off from Spain so it was in the news a lot. How the pilot locked the cockpit door while his partner was in the bathroom then crashed the plane into some mountains. Real scary shit. Also a foid from my school knew one of the victims (friends of her family) and she was crying when the news came out. Maybe that's why I remember it so well.

The psycho pilot took everyone down with him. The co-pilot must've been terrified as he knew more than anyone that he and everyone would likely be dead soon. As far as the passengers only some of the attentive window seat passengers would have known what was inevitable in the last 20-30seconds.
