Tunney was the heavyweight boxing champion sixty years before Mike Tyson. He defeated Jack Dempsey in 1926 to become the champion and again in 1927. He was called the Fighting Marine because he was in the Marines during World War One and was the Marines light heavyweight boxing champion while in the military.

I've seen his height listed as 6 feet tall, perhaps even 6'1 and his weight when he became champion was about 190ish pounds. He still would be too big to be a middleweight. At best, he would be a cruiserweight today, he probably would even be a light heavyweight nowadays. But 6 feet would be considered a giant for a middleweight.
