A friend is someone who has an interest in talking with you outside of school or work. Someone who even just occasionally messages you is a friend. Someone who wants to hangs out and do recreational activities together or in larger group of friends.

A female in class who’s forced to do group project with you isn’t a friend, nor is a coworker whom is literally paid to pretend to be your friend.

-a mutual Female “friend of a friend” only counts if you have 1 on 1 conversations with her occasionally in person and offline. Otherwise she’s just putting up with you cuz she is forced to by her friend in the group.
