Discussion Do you enjoy parties/social gatherings?

I'm not really a big party guy, and I've only been to a couple, but wondering what experiences you guys have had.

I go to a school where everyone who's not an autist gets invited, though if I went to a different school I'm pretty sure I would not receive an invite.

Personally I don't enjoy them, unless the guy hosting the party is super fucking rich. That means you can just go somewhere on his property and smoke weed or chill on your phone. It's kinda nice tbh. They usually also hire catering people so I just foodmaxx.

I don't like the typical high school party though. Every room is full of chads hooking up with girls so all you can do is make small talk with your friends while they find a girl to hook up with. I also don't like alcohol so I'm pretty high inhib tbh ded srs.

im also getting some weed on Friday. It's degenerate as fuck, but hey, it's a decent cope

Damn alcohol tastes horrible and hurts my throat so I don't drink it. I've never been drunk around others either, only by myself, so I've never experienced the happy side of alcohol.

I've been to parties and hated them, they were boring, everyone was getting drunk, no one spoke to me, so I just sit by myself and read mangas or play with my Nintendo DS, that happened each time I went to parties. I'm just to introverted and high inhib to really put myself out there.

I've only ever been to about 5-6 non-family birthday parties in my lifetime, the last time I was invited to a party was when a kid mass handed out invitations to the class when I was 8 years old. I did attend that party of course, with a brown bionicle for a gift. I was given a little gift bag with lollies and balloons. I wasn't invited out anywhere as a teenager because I didn't have friends and still don't. Outside of Christmas with family, I don't attend any social gatherings.

People don't have interesting conversations at parties, they just come up with stupid irrelevant bullshit to talk about and somehow they all seem to enjoy it even if its just stupid bullshit like your job or bragging about all the vinyl records you wasted money on.

And I understand that conversations with other people can be fruitful and scintillating, but they never are in large group social settings because they're always just bullshit.
