I have a brutal story. Normally I don't download porn but this one time I was looking for a torrent of a porn star I liked and I saw a 150gb torrent so I just decided to download it. Some days after it was finished my ssd broke and I had to give it to a computer repair shop so they could fix it. They also made a backup of my recovered disk which was about 400gb, almost half of it being the porn videos. So they made a backup for me and kept me in the loop how much time there was still left, so they could clearly see every title of every porn video that was being transferred. When picked it up at the store, I saw the guy trying to contain his laughter and he was snickering with his colleague. I tried to remain cool but I felt really humiliated.

The thing is: when you watch it you're still downloading data, it's just temporary in RAM, temporary internet files or cache.

The main reason I download porn is basically so that I can transfer it from one old shitty booru with a bad tagging system and increasing censorship to a newer better boru with a great tagging system and less censorship.

Another reason is when watching hentai vids, even though plenty of streaming sites have them, the streams can sometimes be low-quality, have popup ads, and if the internet hiccups my experience will be interrupted.

Having a downloaded file also makes it easier to go back and forth if there's something I want to check in another section of the video, there's no buffering delay like with streaming.

The better question is why after I'm done watching anime (H or otherwise) that I don't just delete it to make room. I rarely rewatch old stuff (usually wait like a decade) so am I thinking the mood may strike me, that I might make friends I want to burn anime onto USB sticks for, etc?

- you may not have internet one day and you want to bust one, so you just go to your phone or pc and theres something you can watch.

-sometimes the porn gets deleted from the website and you can never see it again, so if i really like a video i download it.
