I have consistently held a strong aversion towards those who identify as centrists. Their clear smugness and unearned superiority filled me with resentment. They were dismissive of anyone of whom they believed to be too strongly partisan, even if said partisanship was crafted through a lifetime of study and ideological principles. That said, whilst pondering on the Copium Cruiser (public transportation), I came to uncover that I myself may in fact be a centrist. Since I'm a datacel, I can't mindlesssly scroll like the other normies, I'm often left pondering the secrets of the Universe. Despite always considering myself an ardent right-winger, often oscillating between Libertarianism and Market Fascism, many of my beliefs firmly planted me on the left. Below are my strongly held beliefs of which I've categorized into two categories:
RIGHT WING)
- general support for free market capitalism, low government spending, low tax, deregulation, and a monetary policy that prioritizes low inflation above all else (including unemployment)
- support social darwinism. I have no ill feelings toward Incels who rely on welfare in contemporary society, there's no reason to contribute to a world that hates you, but in an ideal world we would not tolerate free loaders. Those who cannot provide for themselves or refuse to do so will be shown no help. This goes for the poor, the disabled, drug addicts, etc
- support patriarchy, and believe the monogamous nuclear family unit is the foundational unit of a healthy society
- support eugenics, including abortion in cases of disability or disfigurement, this is both for compassion and to cleanse society of burdensome figures
- support traditionalism, believing it to have been crafted through centuries of social evolutionary pressure, and to ignore age old wisdom for fleeting post-modern philosophies is dangerous
- oppose feminism, as it has corrupted the social fabric of society, and led to plummeting birthrates in most of the world
- oppose cancel culture, for it infringes on the rights of an individual to freely express their thoughts without fear of reprisal
- support National Christianity to enhance birthrates and restore the traditional social order (similar to what Viktor Orban has done to Hungary)
LEFT WING)
- support animal welfare, innocent sentient beings who were forcefully pulled into the physical realm should at the very least see their suffering minimized
- strongly oppose imperialism, upon reading the history of subjection and imperialism, I have concluded it is morally abhorrent for a stronger society to restrict the liberty and forcefully impose their values on a weaker one, self determination of a people is an essential right
- extremely woke, view the entire history of the world as one of perpetual oppression, whether through the struggles of the Indigenous people with the trail of tears, the enslavement of African Americans, the subjugation of the Tibetan people, the Cypriots under Turkish tyranny, de-Celtification of Ireland by the British, these are systemic issues that can not and should not be swept under the rug by those who would prefer to ignore them
- believe in euthanasia and see suicide as a basic human right, it should be up to and only up to the individual in question to decide if they wish to continue living
- support density and mixed use residential areas, they are the only way to make housing affordable
- support Ukraine and their battle for independence against the Russian imperialists, even though I am fully aware of the sketchy precursor involving NATO and European provocateurs
- support diplomacy over aggression, war should only be used after all reasonable peaceful options have run out
- support globalization over unilateral isolationism, the world would be a much better place if nations worked together on trade, shared scientific research, and worked towards addressing global issues rather than escalating tensions over every dispute
- support USAID if used for soft power and saving lives, although this may sound contradictory considering previous anti-imperialist stances, using soft-power to influence geopolitical parties is significantly less intrusive to the autonomy of a foreign people than hard imperialism, and if it can militate a great degree of suffering, the benefits outweigh the cons
If a centrist is one whom navigates the political realm by absorbing ideas from across the spectrum based on adherence to their personal underlingly philosophy, then I stand guilty as charged.
