I fundamentally believe in a hard core to every science we practice in today's society, whether that'd be sociology or physics. It just so happens that the former tend to be staffed by incompetent nitwits that are very much subject to political correctness and other forms of corruption. I think psychology is a legitimate science, especially quantitive psychology. Like all social sciences however, there are droves of wannabe psychologists with fancy degrees that are of no substance. At the eminent levels, there are plenty of people who should be taken seriously.
Psychology has a low intelligence barrier (in comparison to the hard sciences) at the lower levels, so you get a lot of pathetic women, but at the higher levels the study is quite serious I think.
