Depends, are they realistically happy as in they are able to be content/focused/appreciative/connectability/realize it's a two way street/able to find joys in the things they do etc?

Cope, cope, cope. Normies ARE happy. Perhaps not by YOUR arbitrary and biased definition of happiness, but by theirs' and society's standard they are happy. Friends, family, relationships, alcohol on the weekends, a smoke or two, some good food, watch a movie, hang out with friends, go places. That is what makes them happy and they are constantly happy.
Depends on how they express that happiness
