Discussion Do genes determine your whole life?

I may not have a degree in gene-ology, but I don't need one to know that genes affect every single part of ur life, from decision making to attractiveness level. Is it true that our whole life is set in stone? Can we break past this barrier, can an ugly dumb incel become rich and married to a stacy who genuinely loves him? I know that hard work doesn't beat talent, but can enough of it perhaps lead you to becoming just as or more successful than a gifted individual? Everything is just so random, it's hard to predict what your outcome will look like. A genetically gifted individual can still become a total failure in life, and a genetically cursed individual can still become a total success. I don't like the way this world works, I wish we were all given a fair hand and hard work is what would determine your success.

Life appears random because of it's complexity, this shouldn't be mistaken for actual randomness though.

Eh, depending on definitions maybe, but only for a short period in special circumstances. Cassanova wrote in his autobiography that women most enjoy when sex is their appreciate "gift" to a man after a period of adventure. Extrapolating that to modern times, one can image some viable scenarios for incels ascending like when a desperate immigrant marries an ugly incel as a culmination of their adventure of seeking residency in a non-shithole country, or an incel who became a celeb quickly and some woman wanted to share the spotlight. In all cases the "love" would fade quickly.

This is it really, if you're good looking but dumb, it doesn't matter because evryone will go out of their way to help you anyway. If you're good looking, the validation you recieve from society will motivate you to improve. If you're ugly and dumb, not a single soul is going to help you one ounce.
