My aunt married a cop and then promptly divorced him. His name was Dave, and as my dad recalls he was a pretty nice guy. My aunt for reference is a wino, had a kid at 17 (which she promptly rid herself by putting it up for adoption), and never did an honest day's work in her life. She once got fired from her job because she went to a bar to drink for 3 hours while on the clock. Dave had bought a house for the 2 of them to live in but my obstinate aunt just REFUSED to move out of her childhood home. She told him to repaint it before she moved in; then to redo sections of it; and finally just refused to move in. I considered being a fireman as a potential career especially when I was younger, if anyone knows Mike Pertz the YouTuber who makes videos about being a fireman and becoming one.
Knowing that they get literally no fucking rest because a call can happen at any moment plus the pay is quite low and there's not many careers you can go into than if you were an cop (cause you can into security or even military).

I would say firefighters slay more. They also tend to viewed in a more positive light in general than cops.
