i personally don't tbh, the only book i've ever read from front to back was mary shelly's Frankenstein back when i was 15. (good times)
I'm an aspiring writer, but the main real reason for me wanting to write stories and characters is not really out of love for the literary arts or some posh, pretentious crap like that.
it's more of me not liking what other writers, or games, movies and other stuff are doing with their stories and characters and me wanting to write my own, and to write about things that i like and think are cool.
anime and manga are a picture perfect of example of me not liking the writing or characters, but they have some good ideas, some good ideas....

It's never explicitly said she was a virgin but it's highly likely as the book gives that sort of impression to the reader.
