People love to say stuff like "find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life". Everybody is full of positivity and optimism about working hard, making money, the future etc...

But I never bought into that bullshit. I hated work when I was a kid at school, I hated it at uni, I hated every single job I've ever had.

Do any of you actually enjoy work?

It's fine. The people are decent, my boss is decent, it's pretty easy work and easy for me to maintain a work-life balance in that when I'm not working, there's no reason for be to be in contact with my work.

i enjoy when my job gives me actual assignments that imply some challenge and responsibility, that stopped nearly 3 years ago as pretty much everyone just started doing their best to avoid me including management, i will get out of that hell this year or just quit without giving a fuck

my superior stopped giving a fuck, he was always too lazy to even give me proper plans for the serious work i had to do, now he doesn't give a fuck at all anymore and won't delegate any serious work to begin with.
he also made it so people only had to deal with him if they had any issues or suggestions with my work, not me. this was not justified in any way.

overall this means i became a nobody in that firm as everyone else thinks i do nothing all day and they have no business with me, there is very little socialization and work parties stopped a long time ago so there are no real opportunities for me to do damage control, which is extremely delicate anyway because of the nature of bragging. it's pretty much over for that place, there's nothing i can do about shitty superiors.

Nobody enjoys work, if people could somehow get free food and housing nobody would care to go out and do anything, let alone work 8 hours a day 5 days a week

The only person who I remember saying that she enjoys work and would continue slaving away 8 hours a day was some dumb radical feminist on reddit who used that as an argument against prostitution
