People talk about how all physical games are better than digital, and while that is certainly true of cartridge games, cd games suck ass. I have bought a lot of used retro games, and I never had a cartridge game (SNES, GBA, etc) fail. They even have their old 30 year old batteries working and saving just fine on the PCB boards.
But it’s like every other time I buy a Playstayion, PSP, Wii game etc they are fucking SCRATCHED AND UNPLAYABLE. You drop these things on the ground once and sometimes that’s it. It’s done.
And it’s worst if it is a 4 disc PlayStation game… it’s like playing Russian roulette. One of those discs doesn’t work right? You’re fucked.
And game stores might not even get to detect the problem even after testing the disc for awhile. This happened to me with my copy of FFVIII. It works fine for the first hour, but freezes every time i try to go to the broadcast tower fight with Biggs and Wedge.
CD games are just pure nigger technology.
