I had the same thing happen to me as a teen, and I naively got cut because I was afraid I wasn't being able to really clean it 100% due to the mild phymosis I had. But I could have just done stretching exercises. Those doctors are greedy bastards, I regret it. IT will like this: I WASN'T OLD ENOUGH TO CONSENT TO MY FORESKIN GETTING CUT OFF!
That's bullshit, I feel really bad for you. It's horrible what they do and you trust them because you think they're doctors and they should know what they're doing. It's tragic.

You didn't end up getting the circumcision though, right?
No, but came a hair's edge away from getting it. I made a thread about it year(s) ago. The appointment was booked and my parents were going to force me into it, it's one thing I do resent them for. Several times over the years they'd sit me down in the bathroom and tell me it wasn't separating so I had to have the circumcision. I'd bawl my eyes out and beg them not to and after fighting them on it they'd postpone it.
Eventually the day came where they said they weren't gonna postpone it anymore and one day in the school bathroom I basically like ripped the foreskin into separating, like properly it would have probably been ready in a few months to a couple years so there wasn't any blood, it was supposed to come off, but it was all red and raw underneath and I've never had skin as sensitive as that. I could barely walk because the newly exposed skin was so fresh that a feather's touch felt like agony.
So sitting in class pretending nothing was wrong and then the walk home... Not fun. When I got home I told my parents and they cancelled the surgery, I never suffered any permanent health issues from separating it early but it was severely sore and sensitive for a few weeks and clearly was not meant to happen that early. But if I hadn't done it a doctor would have cut off part of my penis to fix what I solved as a pubescent in a school bathroom with my bare hands.
