It was one of the fucking worst things ever growing up. Mother would do this because she was hung over and needed someone to take it out on.

No, my mother was reasonably sane for the most part. I was living with my aunt for a few months after we moved to a different state when I was around nine and one night she asked me to do the dishes and I forgot. She decided to then throw all of the dishes on top of me when I was asleep and started screaming at me. Thank god we didn't live with her long because she was fucking mental.
