But I started watching the newest season 3 and I can't even get past the first episode, this is TRASH. Are the next episodes in season 3 worth the watch or is it all like this? Brutal falloff

Loved the 3rd season. One of the things I would want to do before I rope, if I ever decide to go down that road, would be reading the LN. I don't know why but I just hate the way it's written, so I never get that far when I try, but I still want to know what happens later on. And I'm not even sure if humanity will make it long enough for the story to finish and be animated in full.
